Penny Gibson - Chef de Cuisine for the Skybox Sports Bar

Chef de Cuisine,Penny Gibson was born in Boonsboro,MD and raised just down the road in Baltimore. At a young age, Chef Penny was hired as a prep cook, which eventually led to her love of culinary arts.Her first job was as a front line employee at Burger King at the early age of 16.

With multiple positions under her belt, Penny is no stranger to the structure of the industry and has worked under the guidance and mentorship of many great chefs. She has completed multiple leadership development training programs at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races and has held the positions of Certified Cook, Master Cook, Sous Chef and currently, Chef de Cuisine.

Chef Penny’s role includes overseeing the operations of an a la carte kitchen, ordering products, business operations, monitoring the growth and development of employees, and ensuring that visiting guests have a superb experience while dining.

Penny’s best advice for a novice wanting to break into the culinary business is simple.She states that,“If you have a passion in your heart for cooking, the rest will come.” Penny’s passion is clear in all she creates.She tells guests that she remembers cooking along side her mother while preparing numerous meals from one main item.Today, Penny enjoys creating her specialty:crabcakes!
