November 14, 2011
(Charles Town, WV)
– Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races has announced its live racing schedule for 2012 following approval from the West Virginia Racing Commission at its meeting this morning. The schedule includes 235 live racing dates beginning with Charles Town’s January 3 card, with four live days per week in July, August and September and five live days the remaining nine months.
In building on the successful transition to Tuesday racing in the first four months of 2011, Charles Town will conduct live racing from Tuesday through Saturday in November and December of 2012, in addition to the January through April stretch. Sunday racing resumes the day after the Kentucky Derby and continues through the final Sunday in October.
Post time for the first race on Sundays will be 1pm, with all other cards kicking off at 7:15pm. The only exceptions are a 5:00pm start time on April 14, tentatively scheduled as Charles Town Classic day, as well as 6:00pm for the June 30 Sprint Festival card and Race for the Ribbon program on September 22. Charles Town’s complete 2012 stakes schedule will be released in the coming months.
