(Charles Town, WV) –   Silver Heart, an eight-time winner of more than $200,000, returns to the races after a five-month layoff Saturday night in the $50,000 Original Gold Stakes for West Virginia-bred fillies and mares, 3-years-old and up, at seven furlongs at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.

Trained in Maryland by Gary Capuano, the 6-year-old gray daughter of Lion Hearted made two spirited runs at the fearsome sprinter Aspenglow last fall, including a third-place finish in the $250,000 West Virginia Cavada Breeders’ Classic at seven furlongs.

Silver Heart will be coupled in an entry with Jolie Ange, a stakes-winning 5-year-old mare, also by Lion Hearted, who has not raced in six months. Jolie Ange has won half of her 14 lifetime starts, including four of six at the distance.

Also in the field is Little Shiney, a hard-knocking runner for trainer Larry Myers. Although she has won only six of 35 lifetime starts, Little Shiney has been hot of late, winning three of her past five starts. In her last outing, the 5-year-old Parker’s Storm Cat mare finished third to Sweet Goodbye, the likely favorite in the $250,000 TVG Sugar Maple later in the card.

The Original Gold is one of five undercard stakes supporting the Grade 3, $1 million Charles Town Classic.

The remaining runners in the field of 14 are Rapid Victory, Come Here Oonga, Swelzel, Printscess Poach, Fluvanna, Thefun’sjustbegun and alternates Shesagrumptoo, Racingmollygreen, Castina and Girl Prize.
